Floatel a new take on luxury at sea
In conjunction with Christian Stimson Naval Architects, Kit Carlier Design has been enlisted by Hopper Developments to undertake the exterior and interior design for a green, progressive project that will see ocean-bound luxury lovers reconsider how they choose to spend their time on the water.
Exuding clean lines, modernity and style, the Floatel redefines the concept of an ‘ocean view suite’.
Key to the concept is its accessibility. Powered by electric outboards located both fore and aft, guests are able to use a joystick to ‘point and go’, with training for each guest to take no more than 30 minutes when they check-in.
This slick design encapsulates freedom, putting the decisions back in a guest’s hands as they glide from bay to cove – charting their own course.
The mezzanine enables light to pour in and filter through the whole structure, while the teak flooring flows throughout the vessel from the rear deck to the forward steps, providing a large open feel when the aft doors are open, and a traditional nautical feel.
A sun-worshippers dream, sun pads grace the roof for long days spent luxuriating in the warmth while built-in solar panels serve to power the launch’s systems.
We look forward to updating you on progress in the future.
