A network for young marine professionals

Interior yacht designer, Kit Carlier has joined the board to form a New Zealand chapter for the global Young Professionals in Yachting organisation.

The group is currently inviting new members and held an information/welcome event last week during the Volvo Ocean Race Auckland Stopover.

“By creating a chapter here in New Zealand we hope to provide a network for young professionals in the yachting and marine industries and a support group which facilitates success,” says Kit Carlier.

The organisation was brought to New Zealand by Oceanmax’s Chris Gibbs and NZMarine’s Stacey Cook. They are supported on the board by Andrew Clouston of Yachting New Zealand, Isla McKechnie of Albatross PR and Kit Carlier of Kit Carlier Design.

“The group is open to marine industry professionals under the age of 40 and we’re currently inviting those at this stage in their career to join us.”

The non-profit organisation has chapters in Germany, Monaco, London, and the Netherlands and was originally founded in South Florida.
